Mademoiselle Georges

Actress
1787-1867

Mademoiselle GeorgesA stunning-looking actress, Mademoiselle Georges (or Marguerite-Josephine Weimer) was Napoleon Bonaparte's mistress for a short period.

She was famous in Paris theatres and made her debut in 1802. A year later the extremely popular actress began an affair with the French leader.

One of the gifts Bonaparte gave to his young mistress was an arrow-cluster shaped brooch, made of rose-colored diamonds. The actress's name was scrolled on to it in precious stones.

The good lady also claimed to have had the Duke of Wellington as her lover.
