For
the latter organisers of Austerlitz 2005 are promising
"the greatest re-enactment of a battle on the
European continent".
More
than 5000 re-enactors are expected to journey to
the Czech Republic late next year to join in a comemoration
and re-enactment of the battle of Austerlitz from
2-4 December 2005.
The comemorative event will cover the key parts
of the decisive battle that cemented Napoleon's
place as the greatest general in history.
These
will include the arrival of Tsar Alexander and Austria's
Francis I, key firefights in their original locations
and then a general battle.
Organisers
are expecting more than 100,000 people to attend
the event and a further 5000 re-enactors from historical
groups around the globe.
However,
Austerlitz 2005 will not just be about re-fighting
the battle - spectacular though that may be - the
organisers are putting together conferences and
seminars.
During
Austerlitz 2005 there will be religious ceremonies
held in memory of the thousands of troops who died
fighting there and to mark the end of the fighting
church bells will toll around the area.
