Revolutionary & Napoleonic Caricatures

Interestingly, this caricature went to print in both France and England at the same time. Published on March 6, 1813, it sneers at Napoleon Bonaparte leaving his army on its horrendous retreat from Moscow. The work is by George Cruikshank and follows a favourite theme of Bonaparte's betrayal of the ideals of the French Revolution.
