However,
it has to be said the wonderful music from Master
and Commander: The Far Side of the World grabbed
me and I just had to give it a go on CD.
I
think the best way to describe its success is the fact
that members of the family now will know Boccherini's
La Musica Notturna Delle Strade di Madrid No.6 Op.30
note for note - even if they don't know its name.
For
that sublime piece is whistled by myself about every
10 seconds of the day. If you click on the CD image
above you can get through to Barnes and Noble and listen
to a sample of the track.
There
are 14 other tracks on the soundtrack CD and they include
original music for the movie, some wonderful moments
of baroque from Corelli and Mozart, lively contemporary
folk songs and sea shanties.
The
soundtrack from Master and Commander: The Far Side
of the World is excellent listening and I recommend
it to anyone who liked the movie, or has an ear for
baroque or folk music.
